1st part of journey is complete(added to)

Left Winnipeg at 7:10, arrived in Omaha Nebraska at out hotel at 5:30. Roads were great the whole way! When a storm hits these guys know how to get those plows going and clean things up.

We are across the river from Council Bluffs Iowa, so Katie and I are going for supper, then we're going to one of the casinos for a little bit. For those of you who have never been to Council Bluffs, there are 4 large casinos there.

Most we spent on gas was $3.87/gal...but we also paid as low as $3.49.

We went out to eat at Cracker Barrel...it was very good...for anyone who has never been to one...they are all over the place and the meals are like home cooked meals..not typical restaurant fare.

Then we went to the Horseshoe Casino and a good time was had by all...no that's not true...only Katie had a good time to the tune of $220 and that's
counting the $110 I dropped because I knew she was up quite a bit. I seldom win...Katie wins all the time...oh that's right she won cause she got me...ha.

We are going to sleep in until 7AM in the morning...then it's off to Denton, Tx. about a 10 hour drive...to stay at our favorite Best Western Hotel. It is really nice. We use Best Western $100 gift cards that we get off air miles for 750 airmiles for each $100. They are in Cdn funds, but no matter, and if the hotel cost is less than $100 you still have $$ left on the card to use at the next hotel. Best part? They do not expire!!!!.

Well off to bed now...it's been a long day....
