3rd part of Journey completed

We left Denton, Tx about 8:15 or so. Traffic was a little heavier than I thought it would be on a Saturday morning fairly early, but nothing I haven't seen before. As we got close to Waco, we had to decide whether we were going to take Hwy 77 which is the way we came home last year. 77 runs from the Rio Grande Valley and comes out at Waco. It is a combination of 2 lane and 4 lane and you have to slow down for several small towns. We actually didn't mind it too much coming home last year...the benefit is that you totally miss San Antonio and Austin. Austin's traffic is usually so bad they built a bypass which is a toll road.

Then the traffic didn't seem so bad...so we soldiered on and drove right through Austin without taking the bypass. The bypass is a pain because you just get on it and stop to pay a toll. Then short few miles later stop again to pay toll. Can't remember exactly but seems to me this happens about 3 or 4 times. Last year we stopped and paid every time, but it would seem no one else does. I guess some have passes but can't be everyone. I also suppose they mail out bills to people.

The drive through Austin was not bad at all and the drive to San Antonio was similarly uneventful. Once you get past San Antonio it is a breeze after that. We arrived at Paradise at 4:30...and although tired, got the car totally unpacked and things mostly put away in our mobile home. Our renters left the place spotless, and the good part is, they want to rent our place again next year. Now it was time to go get groceries, but first a stop to see our friend Al who is renting in the park for three months this year. After a nice visit, it was off to the new Super H.E.B. which is just down the street a few blocks.

The store is huge...and after picking up what we needed for supper and breakfast, it was back to our place for some much needed rest and relaxation, then early to bed.

more later....
