Katie and I went to the Department of Motor Vehicles which is also where we pay our property taxes. We had forms from the Doctor so that we could get a temporary handicap sign. Katie had previously filled out the forms. After some wait again, the guy at the window told us that he could not issue us the sign as we do not have a Texas ID card. Grrrr.....I guess it doesn't matter that they gladly accept our tax payment without a Texas ID card....long story short...another complete waste of time where almost no one tells you the right information.
Now the day turns however, as Katie is getting along quite well with the cast and using one crutch. She does not have much pain except when she has her foot down too long.
The day got even better as our friend June knocked on our door this morning, to come and see Katie. We had a nice conversation, and we love June.
Then our friend Lorraine dropped in later to see Katie, and again, really nice of her and much appreciated by Katie.
About the same time Lorraine was here, Budget Blinds came to measure our back window, so we could put another black sun screen on to keep the blazing afternoon sun out...so I was busy with that, as our neighbors Ron and Marie wanted an estimate as well.
We were babysitting Al's dog who also happens to be named Katie, while he went to get an oil change. He returned about the same time.
Then Bob and Judy came by and they had a very nice bouquet of flowers and a card. That was really nice of them, and was really appreciated by Katie. Al was still here, and we had some more good conversation, before they left. Katie took a good picture of the flowers...
Then for us a night of relaxation...
and a much better day in the Valley...and the weather was great today
