I posted both Day 11 and Day 12 today
Yesterday, Katie and I decided we were going to hit the factory outlet stores at Mercedes. We used to stop on the way down at San Marcos just outside of San Antonio...but...there are over 600 stores there and it is extremely crowded. The parking lots which are massive are always full. It is just far too congested!
Mercedes on the other hand, at least during the week is a pleasure for shopping. Parking is plentiful, it is not overcrowded, and is good to just meander around.
We always hit the Bass Store first. Every year for the past 3 years we have found tremendous bargains at this store. This year was definitely no exception. Katie found two pair of shoes which are normally priced over $100 at 85% off. She ended up paying $16.50 for each pair! I found a really nice paid of shorts there which are normally $54 for $21. So we both left happy.
We hit the perfume store and both left some cash there. Katie got a really nice top at one store. Then it was time to hit Bath and Body works. Jim sat outside on the bench as I knew I was in for a bit of a wait. Nice sitting outside and soaking up the sun. Katie did her best not to take too long, but she was shopping for herself and also for some of the girls at work. She didn't really take too long, but came out with two large shopping bags and less over $100. This is normal for Bath and Body works and we still have to hit the same store different location yet.
We got a few items at the kitchen store, and then since we accomplished what we wanted, we decided to head off. We stopped on the way home at Cici's a buffet style pizza place as we did not have lunch and were hungry. Too bad we forgot, it is ok there..but really nothing to write home about.
When we got home we decided to go to the driving range. Katie was awesome! She was killing the ball and for the most part was straight down the middle even though it was very windy. I also felt good with my efforts.
Then it was back home and Al and Bonnie came over. For the next couple of hours it was great conversation and the laughs were plentiful. As I mentioned on another day, Bonnie is one of those people you just feel comfortable with. It was a fun night!
Then Katie and I watched some TV and it was off to bed.
And so ends another great day in the Valley!
